Fascinate Conference
Last summer I was working with Daniel Martin on an installation: Resonant Arts: Exploring Cognitive Stimulation from Audio within a Multidisciplinary Practice. I worked on charcoal portraits live whilst wearing an EEG headset so Daniel could measure my brain activity. His degree level study involved the development of music software to interact and compose sounds responsively. You can find out a bit more about it at www.fascinateconference.com. The charcoal portraits shown below (listed Portraits 1-5) were volunteer spectators from the audience and were each completed within a 15 minute timescale. I gave the originals to the sitters at the end of the conference.

Portraits
That’s what I’m about at the moment and I’ve finally decided I’m ready for commissions. I’m just working on a new one at the moment and will post it on here as soon as it’s ready, which should be by the end of February. Meanwhile, I need to find time to get back into the regular Thursday life drawing sessions at Peter Leighton’s lovely studio in Constantine... talented people, great music, tea and biscuits, lovely models... I will stick some of life drawing studies on here soon.
